The all new Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta will Reopen in 2009 and repistion the property as the city most luxurious and contemporary hotel. Located in the heart of the city the hotel will be an oasis of 21st century luxury with 272 spacious guest rooms, variety of very exciting restaurants and bar concepts which will be the meeting place of choice for hotel guests and local community and completely redesigned meeting and banqueting facilities to provide the venues for society events.

For Reopening we presently recruits :

Position : Director of Sales

Job Descriptions :
- Reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing and supervises the Sales Team.
- Is fully responsible for the operation of Sales & Marketing department in the absence of the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Together with the Director of Sales & Marketing implements the agreed rate structure and strategy for all market segments.
-Directs all sales activities for Sales Managers and ensure that they meet the goals of the Marketing Plan and those of the Measurable Results System.
-Establishs and maintains effective colleague working relations both within the department and with other departments.
-Attends selected trade and travel functions, i.e. trade shows and local Hotel and Tourist Association meetings to promote sales and image for the hotel.
- Plans and where appropriate, executes sales trips to major market areas and report new potential market areas that should be covered.
- Analyses and reviews market changes with the Director of Sales & Marketing and implements programs with his/her Sales Team to meet these changes, i.e. changes to the FIT segment, inflation, or competitor initiatives.

- Maintains close relationships with all key decision-makers both in local and international markets.
- Organizes and accompanies familiarization site inspection trips with major clients.
- Regularly entertains major clients of the hotel.
- Maintains a high level of exposure for the hotel in the major marketing areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone and written communications.
- Supervises Sales Manager - in the control of Group allocations and Corporate allotments.
- Ensures up-to-date Springer Miller Systems / Delphi Sales and Catering profile.
- Is responsible for executing the annual training plan for the Sales department and to ensure that all colleagues of the Sales team have completed the Mandarin Oriental Legendary Sales Training Program.
- Conducts wholesale negotiations and finalizes contracts with tour operators and agents in coordination with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Sales Managers.
- Explores new markets and potential accounts for follow-up by Sales Managers.
- Pays regular visits to all major accounts.
- Works closely with the Area and Regional Sales Offices to ensure that the Measurable Results targets are achieved.
- Analyzes and evaluates client production with Sales Managers and implements sales action plans.
- Provides feedback and market information to Director of Sales & Marketing on changing market conditions, including trends on the competition, as a result of direct sales solicitation, telephone, reading material and interaction with competitive hotel employees.
- Implements all sales action plans in the Marketing Plan.
- Proposes and initiates when approved, new services and products for our guests.

Required Skills& Experience

- Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or related Sales and Marketing field.
- Minimum 7 years working experience in luxury hotel industry; international experience preferred and experience within Jakarta/Indonesia is mandatory.
- Previous experience in similar role is essential, must have been a Director of Sales for a minimum of 2 years with a proven track records of results.
- Ability to motivate and develop the best sales team in Indonesia.
- Excellent knowledge of Corporate and Government markets.
- Knowledge of travel agent sales.
- A clear understanding and evidence of formal training and application of revenue management techniques.
- Knowledge of airlines from both a direct revenue perspective and also as potential marketing and distribution partners.
- Outstanding selling and negotiation Skills.
- Impeccable, intelligent and clear presentation and business communication skills.
- Comprehensive Computer Skills and Computer literacy.
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Indonesian.
- Able to liaise effectively with designated market segment accounts.
- Knowledge of market segment.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to develop and motivate his/her team.
- Outgoing and enthusiastic personality.
- Possess high degree of stamina, agility and flexibility.
- Able to multi-task and work under time pressure.
- Well organized, detail oriented and able to make productive and efficient decisions.
